The Civil Rights Act put everyone at the table, but there were still folks who could not reach the spread! We have Equality but not Equity. Equity is helping those who can’t reach the cake with a booster seat so they too can participate in the meal. Booster seats look different so that different needs of the different people can be met. A one size fits all type of approach to helping people with training and or education is marginal improvement at best in changing the economic outlook for families and individuals. A more hands on approach to helping people help themselves is what is needed and there is a plan.
